I'm sorry - Checking is wanted)

Student or Learner
Hello. I haven't been learnng English for 2 years. Now I decided to pass an FCE test, finally.
Could you please check my first informal letter for a long time?
The task: Your friend has sent you an email asking you about arrangemants to attend a musiacal festival next week. Reply to her e-mail.
Dear Gloria,
Thank you for your e-mail. I was really glad to hear that you decided to arrange a musical festival attendace. I would be greatful to help you. But, unfortunately, I am not sure if I am free enough to do it because I have to visit my granny as soon as it is possible. I promissed to help her about the garden almost two weeks ago. But I'll try to do my best!
What could I do to help you? I could send everyone e-mails telling them the time of our meeting. When does the festival starts? I think we whold meet an our before it. I could also orrange an after-party if I managed to have some free time. Would you mind it? I suppose, no. What would you like to eat and drink? I suggest fish and chips. We could buy it in the nearest supermarket. And I would like to have coke for a drink.
Waiting for your reply. I hope we will manage to arrange everything on time.
Love,
Kate.

Hey, its not too bad but you should use more colloquial expresions like wanna, gotta, kinda etc. and i wouldnt use expresions like could, would because in my opinion its too formal. You can also use more colloquial words, there are a lot of websites, just use google :) And dont forget that you dont want to be like other FCE participants, you want to capture FCE commission![]()
Thanks a lot! I'm glad to hear that I didn't forget everything!
I'd try to do my best!
But do i have any grammar mistakes? Or Lexical?
I think the grammar is almost good. And as I said you can say instead of I am -> I'm or as soon as possible-> a.s.a.p. The more colloquial grammar and words you learn, the better mark you get on FCE. And if you fix this little mistakes, the tone will be great :)![]()
Many thanks! You really encouraged me!
I promis to fix everything. And do you think I can post several more letter cause I need corrections and practice?
Yeah absolutely :)
I have never taken the FCE, nor have I ever studied for it, but "wanna," "gotta," etc. make me want to SCREAM when I see them in writing. I agree that contractions (I'm, we've) are very natural, but I can't agree that "wanna" is ever something to strive for in anything in English that will be graded unless you are writing dialogue.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
Well its your opinion, but my american teacher said that they are gonna love that expressions :) its very natural, they use it all the time.. :) but whatever..![]()
Barb_D, thank you. I thought that wanna and all that stuff didn't sound good too.
