    fall off the table

What does "fall off the table" mean in connection to baseball? For example: He had a deuce that fell off the table. Does it mean it was off the charts exceptionally good? Or does it mean no one els can repeat it ? Or that it wasn't accepted (in official play or whatever) ?

    Thanks a million!

    Re: fall off the table

A pitch is said to "fall off the table" when it starts in the strike zone or appears hittable to the batter and ends low or in the dirt. This term is mainly used for change ups and split-fingered fastballs, and occasionally for an overhand curveball.
