Exclamation Can "against" be used this way?

    Hi.

Imagine two kind of cars (A and B) taking tests (each test is taken by a car A and a car B, but the car A that runs the 2nd test is different from all the other cars A). 4 cars A win 4 tests, 7 cars B wins 7 tests and the remaining tests are ties.

    Can I say:

    4 cars A were superior against 7 cars B.

Is the "against" well applied? Is it correct to use a comma before the against:

    4 cars A were superior, against 7 cars B.

Against can, but "4 cars A" is wrong. Maybe 4 A cars?

    Hello arly

    Would this work?

Four of the A cars passed 4 of the tests and 7 of the B cars pass 7 of the tests, but the performance of the four A cars was superior to that of the seven B cars.

No, that would change the meaning of what I'm trying to say...

But, according to konung's reply, "against" can be used...

    Thanks.

    P.S.: 4 cars A feels incorrect, indeed.

It can be used in that general sense, but the other suggestion is perhaps clearer or more elegant.
