What does it mean?
He ran for his life with the tiger in hot pursuit.
Is it corroct?
[ he ran to save his life from the tiger which followed him]
If someone is in hot pursuit, they are chasing you, and are probably close to you.
We talk about the police chasing a suspect as being "in hot pursuit."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
