    on to something

The following sentences are discussing the future of robots titled' Robots "R" Us and can you please explain to me what the numbered parts?

    1. Leibniz was [U1)]on to something[/U]. Threre are indeed pumpbs, pistons and levers inside our brain-we now recognize them as neurotransmitters..

2, His robots brought together all the elements of machine intelligence: vision, touch, decision-making 2) fine motor coordination 3) and even a measure of common sense.

    3. ANd they are showing that this information can be understood by converting it into models and simulations of brain regions, some of two dozen of which have already been completed.

    1. Leibniz had realised he was on the right track. His ideas were beginning to make sense.

    2. Fine motor coordination = ability to perform delicate manual tasks (like micro-surgery or watch manufacture)
"some measure of common sense" = ability to "think for itself" and not just follow its programme.

    3. I think there's a error here......it probably says............
"......some two dozen of which............." which merely says there are many models etc. and two dozen of them have been completed.
