Are these sentences correct?
(a) Cricket is interesting playing
(b) The book is fine reading.
(b) is normal, but isn't the most common of constructions.
This book is good reading.
That farmer's chickens are fine eating.
(a) sounds a little weird as it stands.
The following are correct.
Tendulkar turned on a display of interesting playing.
That spell at the wicket by Tendulkar was interesting playing.
(Sarat's cricket sentences would not be right in Aus English.)
'(Sarat's cricket sentences would not be right in Aus English.)' Nor in Br English.
"B" is OK. I would say: Cricket is interesting to play... or...Playing cricket is interesting.
