    the verb to dress

    how do we really construct a sentence with the verb to dress?
    Please give me some examples.

    Are you wondering about the transitive aspect of the verb, as in "The mother dressed her twin in identical outfits"? Whether it sounds passive when say things like "She was dressed in red from head to toe"?
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    More examples:

    He dressed carefully in the brown suit he had been married in.
    She got dressed quickly.
    I have to dress smartly for work.
    The women were dressed in blue skirts and white blouses.
    I keep a box of old clothes for the children to dress up in.
