    once-in-a-lifetime

We certainly do not want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

It's incorrect to say "once-in-a-life" instead of "once-in-a-lifetime," isn't it?

Because "once-in-a-lifetime" is what is said, "once-in-a-life" does sound odd/wrong.
    Stick with "once-in-a-lifetime".
