Arrow A paragraph I can't get because of a word

In the name of the Merciful Allah,
Hello guys, I really miss you. I have this quote from a longer listening passage " ... in the Himalayas. That was where two continental plates collided. Two continents on separate plates. Um, when this, uh, Indian, uh, uh, plate collided with the Asian plate, it wasn't until then that we created the Himalayas. When we did that, then we started creating the type of cold climate that we see there now. Wasn't there until this area was uplifted."
Do you get the meaning of
"created" or "creating" in this excerpt? I can't understand how creating the Himalayas and the cold climate be attributed to the pronoun " we"?!
Please, give me help. Thanks ahead.

Hey, I still can't get the relation between " create" and this context.

I can understand why the person used the verb 'create'. I don't know why they started saying "we", so I can't answer that. Presumably, it is just because it sounds less formal than talking in the passive voice - "it wasn't until then that the Himalyas were created".

As for 'create', mountains come into existence as a process, so it is perfectly reasonable to use this verb. The same way you could say, "The movement of glaciers creates valleys".

If so, what about " we started creating the type of cold climate ..."?

In the same way that the mountains were created, the climate of wherever the passage is talking about must have been changed by the presence of the Himalayas. The coldness has been created by the presence of the Himalayas.

The fact that the person is saying 'we' doesn't help. But you could say the passage as follows:

"... it wasn't until then that the Himalayas were created. When that happened, it created the type of cold climate that we see there now."
