    Which expression is correct and more common?

    I don't think much of you as a doctor.
    I don't think you're much of a doctor.
    Which of these would make more sense in saying "I don't think you're that good of a doctor."?

    The second one sounds more natural to me.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    (NOT A TEACHER) Native speakers here in the United States also say angrily: You are no doctor! = You are a very incompetent doctor.

    Maybe, you can say;

    "You're not much of a doctor, are you ?"
