    Smile urine-soaked death?

According to Sir Liam Donaldson, outgoing Chief Medical Officer, far from teaching youngsters to consume alcohol responsibly, we are launching them into a downward spiral of depravity which will result in them meeting a urine-soaked death, in a cardboard box under a railway arch, sucking on the last dregs of a can of super-strength lager.

Hello! What does 'urine-soaked death' refer to?

I understood each word, but not the phrase. Could you help me out? Thank you.

    Re: urine-soaked death?

Picture an alcoholic who has lost his job, his home, everything because of his drinking. Now he lives in a cardboard box on the street without any sort of toilet or shower, and eventually dies there, in his box soaked with his own urine.

It's somewhat of a hyperbole, in my opinion, to say that if you share a beer with your teenager, he will end up with a urine-soaked death, but then, I'm not the author.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

I would have doubts about "sucking on". You can suck up a liquid; but even the most mobile and prehensile mouth would find it difficult to suck on dregs.
