Is there any word can replace "did"?

    Hi,

    Question:
Is there any word replace "did"?

    Sentence:
We needed to research government bonds first and then did the presentation.

    My opinion:
I want a word to replace "did", because it seems to be used by childern. And I hope I can have a specific verb for the noun "presentation".

    Thanks

We needed to research government bonds first and then (we) did the presentation.

We needed to research government bonds first and then (we needed) to do the presentation.

The "and then" is a little confusing, although not incorrect.

    I would say:
We first needed to research government bonds, after which we gave (made) the presentation.

    Hi,

Could you please tell me why "and then" is confusing?

    Thanks
