    hall-of-fame sugar artist

    In the sentence:
    "Kerry Vincent is a wedding cake designer and a hall-of-fame sugar artist"

    I don't understand at all the meaning of "hall-of-fame sugar artist"

    please don't send me links and stuff because I have searched but I don't understand. What does a sugar artist have anything to do with "hall-of-fame." Does tha latter word have not been meant to be literal may be???

    Please. if you can explain this to me.

    I seriously doubt there is a real Sugar Artist Hall of Fame (like the very real Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or the Baseball Hall of Fame, for example). In which case, the writer is simply suggesting that if there were such a place, that Kerry would be among its inductees. Very high praise, indeed, for someone who makes roses and rosettes out of sugar icing.

    So you think that the speaker just says that she is a GREAT sugar artist?? Cn this be, like he uses a word like "hall-of-fame" for emphasis. Can it be used like that?
