    what would

when we want to ask a question using "what", should it always be followed by "would" when I have a choice between will/would. i.e.e could it be "what will"

Both "would" and "will" can follow "what", it depends on the context.

"What would you do if you lost all your money?" this is hypothetical, you haven't lost your money.
"What will you do when you lose your money? you haven't lost your money yet, but it is certain that you will.
