    well, it's quite simple, in the English language course the teacher concentrates more on developing students' speaking, listening and other language skills rather than embracing and cramming their heads with syntax or other parts of linguistics. While taking on linguistics, teacher still puts stronger emphasis on exercise based on freer practice, prefering interaction, discussion and conversation to somewhat rigid drilling and memorizing.
