    Animals (it) or (he/she) ??

    Hello

I've always wondered about calling an animal (it) or (he/she) ?
In my brother's English book its written as (he) and I remember when I was in school we were taught to say (it)

when to say (it) and when to say (he/she) ?

    Regards

when to say (it) and when to say (he/she) ? It's not correct question grammar.

When should I say 'it' and when should I say 'he/she'?

If you know what sex the animal is, you can say 'he' or 'she'; otherwise, say 'it'.
But even if we know the sex, we still sometimes say 'it'.

Of course if there is a male and a female and you want to mention a specific one, you should say 'he' or 'she'.
