Usage of - Can we not

In a scenario where someone does not feel like going back to his seat, is this a correct sentence -
"Can we not go back to our seat?"

Is this usage correct? How should one interpret this sentence or any sentences that starts with something like - "Can we not"

    Yes, it is correct.

To achieve better you desired result, you could say:
"Can we simply not go back to our seat?"
    "Can't we stay here?"
"Isn't it possible that we do not come back to our seat?"
"Isn't it possible that we not come back to our seat?"

I think it is also possible to say:
"Can we do not go back to our seat?"
