    are this correct?

    I'm very pleased Richard Wright won the Turner Prize this year. It's been a long time since a painting won the Turner Prize. do i need to put (the) beacuse it sound ok without it but i don't know it's a correct gammer ?
    The Painting is very beautiful and Iím pretty impressive with the drawing and the painting skills. same here!! does it need (s)? i think it does beacuse am talking about two subjects?

    ***NOT A TEACHER*** (1) I am very pleased that Richard Wright won the Turner Prize this year. To the ears of native speakers, the "the" is necessary. (2) The word "skill" probably belongs to the person who drew and painted the picture, not to the drawing and painting. Perhaps you might consider a sentence like: I am very impressed with the skill that went into drawing and painting this beautiful picture.
