    could be on the moon?

    "In reach of a rescue -- what in God's name are you on about? My child could be on the moon for all we know. You and all your clever dicks, you're no closer to a rescue than you were on day one!"

    A man's baby is kidnapped and thinks it "could be on the moon." Does that mean
    he believes his child could be dead already?

    Re: could be on the moon?

    I could only make two guesses;

    1)The child could be anywhere

    2)The federals or the cops were so slow that helped kidnappers take the kid too far away.

    P.S.: It sounds strange since I wouldn't think that in any culture the moon may be associated with death.

    Agreed - it's just a colourful way of saying the child could be anywhere.
