    Smile abbreviations

Can you please tell me if the abbreviation for Govenor (Gov.) would be an Abbreviation of Title or an Abbreviation of a Proper Noun. My son has to break down abbreviations into areas. Thanks!

"Governor" can be a formal tittle. It is also used colloquially as a means of addressing a male, much like Mister.

It would seem to me Governor would fit the title category.
