    help me please with verbs

    In the sentence:
    "Mary lived in Pittsurgh" what kind of verb lived is?
    Is it a linking or an action verb?
    the same question for "happened" in the sentence "Many beautiful things happened yesterday"

    They are both main verbs in their respective sentences, to be exact they are the simple past forms of the verbs "to live" and "to happen".
