    Proper tense

    Is the following sentence grammatically correct:

    Prince Hasan would have been the King of Jordan now if the late King Hussein had not changed his heir designate on his death bed breaking all precedence.

    ***NOT A TEACHER*** In my very humble opinion, your sentence is fine with just a few little changes: Prince Hasan would now be the king of Jordan if the late King Hussien had not changed his heir designate on his death bed, (thus) breaking all precedence. = an event that broke all precedence. That little comma after "bed" is SUPER important.

    Also, it should be "precedent" not "precedence".
