Student or Learner
hello, I'm a female and what should I say for a female friend of mine, for instance for Jane: my girl friend jane or my female friend jane?
You can simply say "My friend Jane." You don't need to specify her sex.
However, girls can refer to their same-sex friends as "girlfriends." Oddly, boys cannot do the same thing and call their guy-friends "boyfriends." I can't explain why.
I went out with a bunch of girlfriends and we had a great time!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
