    Smile meaning

A woman wants to buy a rug. The vendor wants to sell it one thousand dollars and the woman wants to buy it eight hundred dollars and the seller doesn't accept. She throws her hands in mock frustration and leaves.
What is the meaning of the underlined part?

    Re: meaning

From the context I think it is literal - "she throws up her hands in mock frustration" >> She raises her hands on either side of her head to indicate the frustration she feels.

To throw something up can have the meaning of give it up, but in this context I think it the literal case.
