Is there a difference between upmost and utmost
pl.explain
***NOT A TEACHER***(1) A mother's children are always uppermost/upmost in her mind. = the highest place; (2) Everyone at this website is treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. = the greatest amount. (P.S.I think Americans prefer "uppermost.")

The British prefer "uppermost", in many dictionaries "upmost" is said to be an American variant.
