Turn to page 16 of the 1996 Guinness Book of World Records and you'll find the reason. Why will? Is to be going to possible?

He holds the record for traveling... Is "is holding" wrong or correct? Why?

Years ago he stopped taking photos and now keeps a journal of his travels.
Why keeps? Can we use "is keeping" because of now?

We live about seven miles across the river from Kentucky. Is "are living" correct?

Turn to page 16 of the 1996 Guinness Book of World Records and you'll find the reason. Why will? Is to be going to possible? You will find the reason, after you turn to page 16 therefore it is in the future tense.

He holds the record for traveling... Is "is holding" wrong or correct? Why? He is currently the holder of the record, that fact is the case now, so the present tense is correct.

Years ago he stopped taking photos and now keeps a journal of his travels.
Why keeps? Can we use "is keeping" because of now? This refers to the fact that this person regularly uses a journal during his travels, so it is a habitual act, therefore the present tense is used. The two halves of the sentence match - past simple (stopped) then present simple (keeps).

We live about seven miles across the river from Kentucky. Is "are living" correct? Both are possible - "We're living about seven miles....." would be OK, but generally when describing the current location of your home, we would simply say "I live....."

Try not to go with preconceived notions that the place will be dirty or hostile, ...Is "to be going to correct The act of "going with preconceived notions" is clearly in the future in this sentence therefore you are being advised not to think (in advance) that the place WILL BE dirty. You could say ".....preconceived notions that the place IS going to be dirty...."
