"on the radio" or "on radio"

    Hi,

I have a question regarding the usage of the definite article with the words like radio, TV, etc. Which example is correct, 1 or 2?

    1. There are many good programs on the radio?
    2. There are many good programs on radio?

    Many thanks,
    Beubeck
