    Post sentence implication

When I was watching T.V., I saw the sentence "I wouldn't know." having a period at the end. But I think the sentence is incomplete, and it don't make sense for me.

    Conversation:

Boy: They told me his a joke.

    Girl: I wouldn't know.

"I wouldn't know" is quite complete, if a correct context is given.

    A: Where is the cat?
B: I wouldn't know. [where the cat is].

It is a polite idiom meaning simply "I do not know".
