Student or Learner
I wonder if there is any difference between "If(1)" and "If(2)".
1. If you need money, I can lend you some.
2. If scientists can send a man to the moon, why can't they find a cure for the common cold.
I think there is a difference.
Sentence 1 is possibility.
(In case of you need money... - maybe you need it, maybe not)
Sentence 2 sounds to me like a rhetorical question.
It is already known they can do it, but why can't they find a cure for the common cold?
