    Red face Adjective clauses

I'd like to rewrite the sentence below:

I would like to live in a place where there is plenty of sunshine.
    • I would like to live in a place in which there is plenty of sunshine.
    • I would like to live in a place which there is plenty of sunshine in.
    • I would like to live in a place that there is plenty of sunshine in.
    • I would like to live in a place (omitted) there is plenty of sunshine in.
    Are these gramatically correct?

    Thanks for your help.

The relative pronoun ‘where’ in the original sentence means: the place in which
So only the first one can be correct retaining the exact meaning of the original sentence, as it uses the preposition + relative pronoun pattern which applies to situations when the verb inside the relative clause is not performed by the noun / pronoun being qualified. Other relative pronouns or no relative pronouns can not work here.

    Not a teacher.
The first sentence is the only correct answer, I think.

Your sentence should be elevated to a proverb status.

I would like to live in a [place = which] there is plenty of sunshine in.

I am copying and pasting the following from Longman English Grammar by A.G. Alexander. So, if you think you disagree with it, argue your point with the author.

This is the place in which I grew up.
This is the place which I grew up in.
This is the place I grew up in.
This is (the place) where I grew up.
