    Passed or Past Confused

    Which is correct in this sentence, "passed" or "past", and why?
    “They are laughing their cares away as time silently rolls passed/past.”

    ***NOT A TEACHER***Yes, unregistered, these two words can be confusing. (1) The time rolls past. = "past" is adverb that modifies "rolls." Something like: The time rolls by. (2) "Passed" is the past tense of "to pass." For example: He passed the football; She passed her English class with good grades (marks). Thank you.
