Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?
I can’t imagine how they will climb down that cliff.
I can’t imagine how they will get down that cliff.
You must to get down (off) the ladder immediately!
He got down from the unruly horse.
get down = descend, move something or somebody to a lower position, alight from (a horse), dismount
Please, may I get down? (Please, may I leave the table?)
You have to get down all books from that shelf.
get down = take down
You have get down every word she says.
get down = record
They got down to their work again.
You have get down to peeling potatoes!
I shall get down to this problem.
