In spite of being married, many girls hit on him.
Is this sentence considered right? I think it´s awkward, because the first part refers to the man, and the subject of the second sentence is many girls. Am I correct?

It's not clear, it needs to be rephrased a little: "In spite of his being married, many girls hit on him".
