Smile the lengths some will go to find it

    Hello.

A lovable tale of adventure and friendship...
and the lengths some will go to find it.

The sentence above is about a picture book for children.
(It is a story about friendship between a lonely duck and a boy.)
What does "the lengths" here mean?
Can the word "length" be used as a countable noun?
    Please help!!!

This means the distances that some people are prepared to travel, whether literally or figuratively, to find friendship. Yes, "length" is countable.
