Welcome to the Forum. All the three prepositions (to/for/with)are commonly and extenssively used. So to pin point where to use which one or what is the appropriate preposition, in a nutshell is difficult. However, you might have obseved that ‘to’ has a special application of forming infinitive when followed by simple form of a verb. You have study a good grammar site and practice a lot to become conversent with preposition in general. See the some common uses and use of 'to' as infinitive (underlined)
