A sort of bike with rechargebale battery and motor is very popular now in China. I think it should be called electric bike. Is it proper?

I guess there are few such bikes in the US, but there are electric cars, which is run by electricity, what should we call such car, electric car or electric motor car or others ?

Such bikes are offered for sale in the western U.S. and are called - oddly enough - electric bikes.

In your opinion, what should it be called?

Electric bikes - that's what they are and that's what should be called.

Why do you say oddly enough ?
