    could vs would

Which is better in the sentence below, "could" or "would"?

It would help me in deciding whether to apply for the position in question if you could/would detail the responsibilities of...

    Thanks.

'could' goes well with specifying condition.

I would say "would". "Could" sounds impolite if it is obvious that they could - and they obviously could detail the responsibilities ...
Asking "could you?" sometimes sounds sarcastic when you know that they can.
The writer is asking them "Would you do this for me?"

On the other hand, if you're not sure whether they could, "Could you?" sounds more polite.
