    Question Appropriate reply?

What is the appropriate negative reply to the request made by using the phrase "Would you mind..."

I know the positive reply such as:
A: Would you mind collecting my daughter from school this afternoon. I've got a doctor's appointment.
B: No, that's no trouble at all.

But what if I'd like to refuse to be helpful because I also have to do something else etc?
    Looking forward to the answer....

    Re: Appropriate reply?

Would "Yes, I would, I'm sorry. I am busy this afternoon." be impolite?

You could say: "I would if I were free but I'm sorry, I am busy this afternoon".
