    when writing "women's restrooms" is it correct use an apostrophe

    It depends on your point of view. Can the women really be said to possess the rest rooms?

    I suppose that if you want to be precise, it should be "Restrooms designated for use by women"

    I am not a teacher, though, and think that would be quite cumbersome.
