the use of "more...than any" and "as...as any

    Dear all,

If the following sentences refer to a state in the U.S, are they correct?

    1. This state has more natural resources than any in the united States.

    2. This state has as many natural resources as any in the United States.

    Thank you!

    not a teacher

    Both are correct.

1 could be reworded : This state has the most natural resources in the US.

The two sentences don't have the same meaning.

    Thank you!
