    Write five hands

I read it in The Sooper Speaking (Lawrence): Wrote five hands. Does anyone know what the english idiom "to write five hands" means? Thank you!

I'm sorry, I don't. Perhaps it would help to know the context.

    Re: Write five hands

My first thought is based on meaning no. 16 here: Hand | Define Hand at Dictionary.com - he had five styles of handwriting. But with a word that has this many meanings, context is the only way to make sense of it.

Sorry - seems to be by Edgar Wallace

Lone House Mystery - Google Books

And from the context Bob's solution seems the right one.
