Hello,
I'm wondering how the sentence would be as plural:
It was a hard time.

It were hard times.
It was hard times.
They were hard times.

:?:

What's the correct sentence?
Once I learned that "It is the movies." is correct.
Is it the same rule, too?

Cheers!

If you are referring to a general era, it would be "those were hard times". If you are referring to a single, personal event or incident, it would be "it was a hard time".
