    Re: Rewrite

I have got a five day holiday.

I had one only hour sleep.

It is only 2 hours to go to work.

    Are these right?

    Yes, or "I have a five-day holiday."

I had one only hour sleep. No
I only had one hour's sleep.
I only had one hour of sleep.
    or
I had only one hour's sleep.
    or
I had one hour's sleep only.

It is only 2 hours to go to work. No.
It is only two hours before I go to work.
There's only two hours to go before I have to go to work.
    Are these right?

    Re: Rewrite

Do we put (are ) before 2 hours or (is)?

    Or we say

    There is 2 hours.

    or

    There are 2 hours.

    Not Necessarily

    Or we say

    There is 2 hours.

    or

    There are 2 hours.
I have written: There's only two hours to go before I have to go to work.
There is two hours to go.
This refers to a period of time.
There is a two-hour period of time.
So, it looks like a plural, but it means one period of time of two hours duration, so "is" is used. You will find this happens occasionally.

A: How much time is left?
    B: There is two hours.

A: How many hours are left?
    B: There are two hours.
