    Question Documentation In Compass

    Hi,

I found a website Compass - Java Search Engine Framework, in that link's page, there is a word "Documentation",

I don't understand why it don't use "Document" or "Documents",

Is the "Documentation" correct at there? and Why?

    Thanks.

    (Not a teacher)

It's just the use of the word. From dictionary.com:

    3. Computers. manuals, listings, diagrams, and other hard- or soft-copy written and graphic materials that describe the use, operation, maintenance, or design of software or hardware: 'The documentation for the driver program is displayed on the screen.'

    Re: Documentation In Compass

You could, but documentation is a pretty standard term.
