    I'm afraid the first sentence makes no sense to me at all. If you could give the context, that might help.

    Commitment (note spelling) in terms of a relationship, means that the 2 people are determined to stay together, they are loyal. They are bound emotionally to each other. When people get married, it is said that they are showing their commitment to each other in public.
