Student or Learner
If I say "A and B groups", is plusal form neccessary for "group"?
Btw, why "the" is needed here? I am trying to use article correctly but fail many times. I think "plural form" is neither specific nor belong to the group of nouns that "the" is required.
So you know that there is a specific form for the plural; and you ask "What is the plural form?"
This is a bit confusing, because we also say "'Group' is singular and 'groups' is plural" - without any articles.
This is really something you can only learn by experience, after a certain point. It's a problem that all learners have whose first language doesn't have articles.
Thank you. I saw it now.
When we say 'group is singular', "singular" is an adjective and 'the' doesn't precede the adjective when no noun follows the adjective.
But when there is a noun after the adjective 'the' is used.
"group" is the singular form.
