I heard someone hosting a meeting saying,

"I must touch base with everyone here to make sure we are all working on the right page....."

(she meant that she wanted to make sure everyone knew the norm of the job function and nature)

Question

1) is the sentence highlighted above in correct structure and grammar?
2) could you show me another examples by using "touch base" in writing, probably in different meanings?

To "touch base" means to check in, briefly or otherwise, to contact the people concerned just to ensure that everything is OK.

Example: I live abroad but I regularly touch base with friends and family.

This could be by phone, email, letter etc, but it means that I make contact with them to assure myself that everything is OK, and to catch up news.

In your context, the writer wants to contact all the people concerned to ensure that they are all working on the project with the same goal in mind. The phrase normally is "to be on the same page".
