Hi ripley,

None of these work with "snow" very much.

I went on a trip to see the snow. I went on a trip to a place with a lot of snow. I went on a trip to the mountains so I could see the snow.

The country is fine - you went TO the country/countryside. (No real difference.)

If you change "day" to "one-day" or "day-long" then any of those will be fine, except I don't think of a holiday as being only one day.
