Confirm with the operator if your destination is close to their stop.

If you canít wait for the money to clear, confirm with the bank that it is a valid check (if possible go to the bank with them).

Can I use "confirm with somebody/something" to mean "check with somebody/something"?

Yes, if you are actually confirming it.
You can 'check with the weather bureau' what the weather will be like tomorrow.
You can't confirm what the weather will be like, unless you already know and simply want to make sure - which is what 'confirm' means.
