    hold up traffic

In the animation movie "Aladdin, The King and the Forty Thieves": after they got into the hideout, The parrot was afraid to go after the forty thieves... accidentally, inside the hideout (the cave), he pushed the monkey and they both fall down. The parrot then said to the monkey:

"If you wanna not hold up traffic, I wanna get in, get out and go home"

Now please. I can't understand the meaning the he wanted to say by "If you wanna hild up the traffic"

The script said "the path forward to the treasure" but really it's still not clear. Can you please rephrase it to me?

    Thanks a lot.

Where does this come from? It's appalling English.
